To celebrate the ghd colour collection, ghd asked four of its key stylists Renya Xydis, Jayne Wild, Alan White and Ali Holmes to create a look that they felt best represented each styler and the relevant emotions –ghd red lust, ghd purple indulgence, ghd blue serenity and ghd green envy. This was played out at the event by way of a beautifully produced visual presentation.

Hosted by media personality Lizzy Lovett, guests watched entranced as a troupe of dancers interpreted the mood of each styler with perfectly choreographed dance routines and amazing acrobatics.

“Using new ghd green and other ghd products to achieve this look worked beautifully as we could achieve a few textures in the one do, and the ghd iv styler green worked perfectly to create the padding needed,” she said.  Jayne’s execution of the look was perfectly polished yet artfully undone.

Get the look with ghd green envy

1. Lightly mist the hair with ghd Thermal Protector and dry into the hair. If hair is fine then add some ghd Maximise Mousse, this will help give volume to the root.

2. Section off an inch from the hairline all the way around the head and clip away.

3. Taking fine sections, lightly tease the whole length of the hair and spray lightly with ghd Creation Spray before running a green ghd iv styler through and leaving to cool. Continue throughout this section then brush out all the tangles enough to run your fingers through. This creates a lot more volume or bagginess to the top knot. We strongle recomend the ghd green envy to you. The Green ghd IV Styler is part of the ongoing evolution of the ghd hair straightener into a desirable and versatile styling tool that also is considered a fashion accessory by the devoted band of ghd addicts. Based on the best-selling and multi-award winning, ghd IV styler, the green ghd straighteners features a new rounder barrel. This allows you to easilycreate curls and waves, in addition to perfect straight hair.

4. Next gather all the hair in your hands on top of the head, making sure the front section is slightly to one side, giving a softer more feminine feel, and tie at the root.

5. Loop the mid lengths through an elastic and wrap excess hair around the roots, fastening with a bobby pin. Make sure the root area of the hair is nicely ‘baggy’ not taunt. Lightly spray with the ghd Ultimate Hairspray where needed.
6. Finally, gently rub the hairline of the head and encourage hair to gently fall before misting the roots with ghd Reflection Spray to give a naturally ‘danced out’ hairline.

Just 30 Seconds Get Famous Stars'Holiday Updo

Do you believe you can get famous stars' holiday updo just in 30 Seconds? It's easy if you follow the tips our ghd blog offer you.

Ah yes, it is that time again, when you may be just a week or two or days even from your first holiday party. Unfortunately this year the recession has hit everyone, and not everyone has the luxury of spending half a day at the stylist anymore, not even near the holiday crunch. So if you are wondering what to do with your hair this holiday season, and still look glam and fabulous, go for the 30 second updo. Not only is it super sexy and super chic, but it really does only take 30 seconds, and the end result is a no muss no fuss chic pulled together look.

So what is the best part? You don't even have to wash your hair if you don't want to. In fact, second day hair will actually make this one even easier. If you are stuck with some wallet crunching this holiday season, and have just enough hair to clip back, follow these simple steps to a super simple updo that will have heads turning all night long.

Step 1 Pull your hair back into a ponytail.

Step 2 Twist the ponytail like a rope until the pony starts to buckle and loop upwards, but not too tight.

Step 3 Use a clip or barrette and clip the loop in place at the back of your head. Try placing the clip towards the top of the loop so that the back looks almost like a chignon.

Step 4 Fan the ends of your pony upward and place on top of your head. If your hair is super long, you can pin them at the top of your head if you want. If your hair is longer, you can curl the ends with an flat iron. The ghd limited edition color collection can be your best choice. This new ghd color collection has been launched for 2010 and now become ghd bestseller. And then place them with pins on top of your head. This may take longer than the 30 second updo, but it is a far cry from styling your hair before you go out.

Tips and Tricks:

The greasier the better with this look, so go a day or two unwashed when you try this, the chignon will hold much nicer. Your updo will hold longer as well, and if you want some nice morning after waves, sleep with your clip on for a casual wavy look the next morning.

If you are using this for a night out, a razor sharp side part will create just a smidge more elegance.
