"You get more root lift, retain curl shape and avoid frizz." Worried about damaging your lengths? "As long as you dry your hair at a safe distance and not at an extremely high heat, diffusing your hair is as safe as regular blow-drying," adds Karsono.

Reawaken ringlets

Yes, it is possible to add extra spring to your waves the day after you've washed them. "Invest in a satin pillowcase," advises Dorning. "This works wonders as it doesn't create static, which can encourage frizz. Then, when you wake up, clip your hair up before showering and allow the steam to reactivate your curls. Afterwards, simply use a curling tong on any pieces that need definition, or just twist them around your finger." If they're still not behaving, try a little styling paste, warmed between your fingers, to add shape and control.

Maximise moisture

As with all hair textures, ringlets will benefit from regular at-home treatments. "Choose a product that's hydrating, rather than protein-based, as curly hair naturally contains a lot of protein," explains Dorning. And never be tempted to skip conditioner in search of more bounce. "It's important to condition hair well after each wash," adds Karsono. "Conditioners help smooth, prevent moisture loss, protect hair from breakage and damage, and provide shine." Three Hot Christmas hairdos with ghd styler

Christmas is approaching and all the best Christmas parties call for fabulous hair. Apart from using top notch hair and hair care products to keep your hair shiny and silky throughout the festive season, you also want to style your hair just right for all the merry-making ahead. Today our cheap ghd blog will share you three Christmas dos you can create yourself at home.These hairstyles can be easily created with our ghd hair products.

Up/Down Combo

1. Prep the hair with ghd Thermal Protector and ghd Obedience Cream, dried in with a blow dryer. The ghd Obedience Cream will minimize frizz for a smoother, sleeker finish.

2. Section off the hair above the 'O' bone to back of ear and roll under onto itself, secured with a pin.

3. Take some of the higher sections on each side and pull them around the existing roll to loosen lengths then pin them in.

4. Section off the rest of the hair from the bottom, then using the ghd iv styler, create a slight water wave in the hair. A water wave is achieved by placing the ghd iv at the root of the hair and turning it slightly under, then reverse this by going 'up-side-down', repeating all the way down the section of hair.

5. Continue throughout remaining sections of hair and when complete, tuck the ends up into the pre-rolled section. This style will give you a 'sexy' wave in a shorter looking length.

6. Spray with ghd Ultimate Hairspray to finish.

Beachy Look

1. Prep the hair with ghd Thermal Protector and ghd Maximise Mousse, dried in with a blow dryer.

2. Part your hair where it falls naturally, then starting at base of head, take a one inch square section and smooth out the hair using the ghd iv salon styler. Spray each section with ghd Creation Spray before styling for extra hold.

3. Once the section is cool, use the styler on an angle to create a curl.

4. Continue over the head, while gradually dragging the roots to keep them smooth.

5. Go back to starting point and taking the 'curls' in your fingers, run your fingers up each section, almost "backbrushing" each curl. This gives a softer flow to the hair, and a fluffier feel.

6. Spray with ghd Ultimate Hairspray to hold, or ghd Sea Spray for a more natural ‘beachy’ finish.

Dishevelled Ponytail

1. Prep the hair with ghd Thermal Protector and ghd Maximise Mousse, dried in with a blow dryer.

2. Section off the sides of the hair from the temples to front of ear, leaving out the centre section.

3. Tie back the rest of hair into a pony tail at the lowest part of crown

4. Smooth the side sections and wrap around base of pony, pinning at the top of head

5. Using the GHD Gold Classic Styler on an angle, run the plate through the hair, taking each section of the pony and secure with pin. Using the Classic ghd Hair Straightener on an angle will create natural looking movement in the hair. Leave each section to cool. When using the ghd gold classic styler to curl or wave, each section should only be about one inch thick.

6. Take each section and tease the roots, then smooth down and pin into desired shape.

7. Spray with ghd Ultimate Hairspray for extra hold.

"The full bodied hair for the show moved with a seductive bend and waves were created with the ghd IV styler. The hair was smoothed through the top and sides, blending into long flowing waves to give a glamorous but relaxed feel," explains White.
How to get this look with iv ghd:

1. On damp hair we applied plenty of ghd maximise mousse to achieve all over body and volume, blow drying the hair until dry. We applied ghd uplift spray to the roots to lift the hair direction away from the scalp. I wanted the hair to be pumped up and have plenty of hold.
2. At this point we added hair extensions to the girls who needed them, to give extra length and body. We needed to create consistency with the models' hair lengths so the extensions gave the girls lengthened and even hair.
3. We then set a wave into the hair using the ghd IV hair straightener and ghd IV salon styler (for bigger, looser curls at the bottom). Selecting sections of hair at random (to keep the movement natural), we smoothed the hair around the ghd styler to create a long curl.
   Tip: apply ghd creation spray before heat styling to give the curl extra hold and make it last for longer.
4. Before the hair set too tightly, we brushed through the curls to create softer waves, then rolled each section back up and pinned it so the wave would set more naturally.
5. After the wave had set we removed the pins and softly brushed the hair out in all directions with a soft bristle brush to really take advantage of the volume created by the ghd maximise mousse and the ghd IV. This gave the hair freedom of movement and bounce.
6. To smooth the top and sides I mixed ghd texture lotion with ghd polishing serum at a ratio of 5/1 to give mixed texture and hold with a polished finish. Taking sections across the top of the head, (from ear to ear) I combed the mix onto the hair close to the scalp making sure to keep the mix off of the mid lengths and ends. Once all the top and sides were smoothed off the face, I set the top in place using a warm blow dryer
7. I then applied a light application of ghd polishing serum to the mid lengths and ends to add shine and to give that luxurious finish to the waves.
8. A light spray of the ghd ultimate hairspray held the style in place until just before the models went out when we gave the hair a light brush through so the style could move with ease in the wind.

4. For very fine hair use a lighter weight shine product. Try Spray shine to apply a very sheer layer of shine.
